Run, don’t walk to The Farmacy to try their banging new lunch menu. The eatery located at 307 West Broad Street opened last year to much fanfare and business has been very strong ever since. Proprietors and chefs Ross and Danielle have perfected craveable, casual comfort food.
They recently revamped their lunch featuring many creative handhelds. This may be the lunch menu of your dreams. At least it is for me.
I enjoyed The VLT – a sandwich made with smoked tofu, heirloom tomato, gem lettuce, avocado spread on sourdough bread. The tofu had a mild smoky flavor and was firm on the outside, soft on the inside. It held together very well. The sandwich was served with their amazing hand-cut fries. I’m not vegan or vegetarian, but I do try to eat meatless meals as much as possible. I could only eat one half of the sandwich so I had the rest later. This sandwich truly satisfied.
Since I was sitting at the counter, I snapped a couple pictures of other people’s dishes as they were waiting to be served to other guests.
The Thanksgiving All Day is, you guessed it, Thanksgiving on a plate or in this case, a low bowl. Served open-faced because there is no way any roll could hold all of that deliciousness. Roasted turkey breast, herbed stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, and somewhere under there was a long roll. You better bring your appetite for this one!
The next time I go back, I am definitely going to get the “Say Hello to My Little Friend” Cuban Sandwich. This sandwich looked so amazing that I was kinda kicking myself for not getting it. Roasted pork shoulder, sliced ham, lacy Swiss, Jersey Gina’s pickles, and mustard on a soft long roll. Yeah, this is a sandwich I can be friends with.
The Farmacy is one of my favorite new restaurants to open in South Jersey in the past year. I love what they’re doing there and highly recommend that you go if you haven’t checked them out already. If you love farm fresh comfort food, you’ll LOVE this restaurant.
