AUGUST 2026 UPDATE: 856 Ice Cream is now open! Check out their latest Instagram or Facebook post. For some reason I cannot embed it into this article.
A new mom-and-pop ice cream shop is about to pop up in Palmyra. Say that five times fast!
856 Ice Cream will officially open its doors on Wednesday, July 29, bringing soft serve, premium hard scoop ice cream, ice cream cakes, locally roasted coffee, and plenty of family-friendly fun to 516 Cinnaminson Avenue in Palmyra.
The announcement was shared by owners Dan Ratz and Jaime Sternick, who say they’re excited to become part of the growing Palmyra community.
For Dan and Jaime, opening 856 Ice Cream is about more than serving delicious frozen treats.
They saw Palmyra as a town with incredible potential and wanted to contribute to its continued growth by creating a welcoming gathering place where families, friends, and neighbors can come together, make memories, and enjoy a sweet treat.
The business also has a deeply personal meaning for the family.
One of the biggest inspirations behind 856 Ice Cream is their high school-aged daughter, Victoria. Dan and Jaime wanted to give her the opportunity to witness firsthand what it takes to build a business from the ground up while teaching valuable lessons about hard work, creativity, perseverance, and following your dreams.
The couple says the encouragement they’ve received from the community throughout the process has been overwhelming.
“The support we’ve received from the community has been amazing, and it has made us even more excited to open our doors,” they shared.
When customers stop in, they’ll find a menu featuring creamy soft serve, premium hard scoop ice cream, handcrafted ice cream sandwiches, custom ice cream cakes, and locally roasted coffee. The owners also plan to expand the menu over time, introducing new items based on what the community enjoys most.
“Our goal is to continue growing our menu to fit the local vibe,” they said.
As Palmyra continues to welcome new businesses and community-focused entrepreneurs, 856 Ice Cream is looking forward to becoming a neighborhood favorite where people of all ages can gather throughout the year.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to 856 Ice Cream!”
Be sure to stop by beginning Wednesday, July 29, and help welcome Palmyra’s newest locally owned ice cream shop to the neighborhood.
