Update: Aloha Bowls in Medford is opening on April 15th!

A taste of the islands is heading to Main Street with the upcoming opening of Aloha Bowls, a new smoothie and fruit bowl eatery set to debut at 18 S. Main Street in Medford.

Owned by Laura Wheeler, Aloha Bowls will offer a feel-good menu featuring smoothies, açaí bowls, and made-to-order fruit bowls made with fresh ingredients and real fruit. Designed to be both a grab-and-go option and a place to linger, the new spot aims to pair nourishing food with genuine island-style hospitality.

Wheeler and her family—husband Rich and their two sons—relocated to Medford from Ocean City about a year and a half ago. A recently retired State Police officer after 20 years of service, Wheeler now substitutes teaches and volunteers as a coach. The inspiration for Aloha Bowls comes directly from the family’s time at the shore, where açaí bowls and smoothies from a favorite local shop became a staple.

“Bringing something we loved so much in Ocean City to Medford felt like a great way to give back to the community we now call home,” Wheeler said.

The menu at Aloha Bowls will feature a wide range of smoothies and fruit bowls with bases including açaí, pitaya, coconut, blue base (blue spirulina, pineapple, banana and coconut milk), and green base (kale, pineapple, banana and coconut milk), along with an extensive selection of toppings. Vegan and gluten-free options will be available, along with add-ons such as protein and spirulina. Everything will be made fresh to order, with a focus on bold flavors and wholesome ingredients that leave customers feeling energized—whether they’re stopping in for something quick or hanging out with friends.

Beyond the menu, the space itself is designed to stand out. The shop will feature a lofted seating area upstairs, offering guests a comfortable place to relax and hang out. The interior will lean into a Hawaiian and tropical aesthetic, with a surf shack-inspired vibe upstairs and a lanai-style outdoor area in the back. The spacious outdoor seating area will provide even more room to unwind and soak in the laid-back atmosphere.
