A familiar landmark in Burlington City is embracing its past while charting a new future. The vintage diner at 637 High Street (Route 130 South)—most recently home to Amy’s Omelette House—has officially returned to its original identity as the Burlington Diner under new ownership with a new menu and lower prices.
At the helm is seasoned restaurateur Saqib Qureshi, who previously owned the New Berlin Diner and Stratford Diner and owns other restaurants in Central Jersey. With the transition, Qureshi aims to restore the diner’s classic appeal while introducing updates to attract a new generation of guests.

Although remnants of the previous branding remain for now, the shift back to Burlington Diner is already underway. A refreshed and expanded menu is set to debut this week, featuring a broader selection of diner staples, as well as new additions such as gyros, panini, soups, and an enhanced classic diner dessert lineup. Breakfast, a cornerstone of any traditional diner, will be served all day. Hallelujah!
Customers can also expect a renewed focus on value and comfort. Prices have been significantly reduced—some items by up to 30 to 40 percent—while new, larger coffee mugs and a lineup of daily and weekly specials aim to enhance the overall dining experience. Weekday guests will find an added perk, with complimentary soup and salad offered Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Inside, subtle upgrades have already begun, including updated lighting and décor, with more extensive renovations planned. Among the most distinctive forthcoming additions are custom wooden tables crafted by Bistro Branding. These tables will feature embedded advertisements from local businesses, blending community support with a unique design element.

Exterior signage reflecting the Burlington Diner name is expected to be installed in the coming weeks, further solidifying the return to its original identity. For now, the diner is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the possibility of extended hours—including dinner service—under consideration.
As the Burlington Diner reintroduces itself to the community, more updates are anticipated, including a frequently updated social media presence. For longtime residents and newcomers alike, the revival signals a renewed chapter for a beloved local institution—one that honors its history while evolving for today’s diners.
It’s reassuring to see a classic New Jersey diner remain in place, hopefully for many more years to come. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
