Back Alley Barbecue Pennsauken NJ

Back Alley Barbeque is BACK!

Okay… everybody take a deep breath.

If you’re feeling a little confused about what’s going on with the former Back Alley Barbeque, don’t worry—you’re definitely not alone. This story has had more plot twists than your favorite binge-worthy TV show. But that’s life, right? One chapter ends, another begins, and sometimes there’s a surprise chapter in the middle.

So, here’s the latest recap.

Back Alley Barbeque called 2591 Haddonfield Road home for eight years. After years of serving up smoked goodness, the good doctor of barbecue himself, Dr. Ron Jones, decided it was time to hang up the tongs (or at least pass them to someone else). A few months ago, he sold the business. Or so he thought!

The plan? A seafood boil restaurant called Seafood Corner was set to take over the space. Everything seemed to be moving along… until it wasn’t. The deal fell through. It happens. Sometimes even the best plans end up back at the drawing board.

A lot of people were disappointed because they thought barbecue was disappearing for good, especially since the new concept would’ve been another seafood boil spot just down the road from Crab Du Jour.

Whatever the reason, Seafood Corner ultimately decided not to move forward.

So what happened next?

Dr. Ron reached out to his friends, Terrance Brown and the team at Smokin’ Rev & Lady Q’s Gourmet BBQ, and asked if they’d be interested in firing up the smokers while the building goes back on the market.

They said yes.

Now, before everyone starts calling this Smokin’ Rev’s second location… not quite, think of it more as an awesome barbecue pit stop. They’re helping out a friend, keeping the smokers hot, and making sure this longtime barbecue destination doesn’t sit empty while its next chapter is being written.

So yes—Back Alley Barbeque is back, with Smokin’ Rev & Lady Q running the show for now.

At the end of the day, however you look at it, this address is still serving up the smoky, comforting barbecue people have loved for years.

And remember… the story isn’t over yet. There are probably a few more plot twists waiting around the corner.
