Attention vegetarians and non-meat eaters!
South Jersey’s dining scene continues to grow, and for fans of authentic Indian cuisine, there’s an exciting new addition to the neighborhood. Bheema Vegetarian Indian Cuisine is now open at 28 Route 70 in Marlton, bringing a menu dedicated to traditional South Indian vegetarian cooking to Burlington County.
Bheema offers something that has been relatively hard to find in the area—a restaurant focused entirely on authentic South Indian vegetarian cuisine. Rather than trying to appeal to every taste with a broad, generalized menu, Bheema celebrates the rich culinary traditions of southern India, where fresh vegetables, lentils, rice, aromatic spices, and generations-old cooking techniques take center stage.
For not having meat options, the menu is still very large and varied. From crisp, paper-thin dosas and fluffy idlis to flavorful vegetable-forward curries, rice specialties, and hearty vegetarian entrees, the menu reflects the depth of vegetarian Indian cuisine.
Vegetarians and vegans will especially appreciate having a restaurant where plant-based dishes aren’t simply alternatives—they’re the stars of the menu. However, meat-eaters shouldn’t overlook Bheema either. South Indian cuisine has long demonstrated that vegetables, legumes, grains, and carefully layered spices can produce incredibly satisfying and flavorful meals without relying on meat.
The experience is more fast-casual (order at a kiosk or at the counter and be seated). The dining room is on the small side with booths for casual dining.
