Big Swerve’s BBQ is run by husband-and-wife team Stephen and Shajuan Clark, who are the nicest, most passionate people you will ever meet. They are the real deal. Stephen is a true pitmaster; the braun of the business. He calls his wife, “the brains” of the operation. Together, they make for a dynamic duo putting barbecue on the South Jersey food scene map!
Thanks to word of mouth, widespread attention on social media, news stories, and the SJFS Effect, the business grew rapidly and is now a top barbecue spot in South Jersey. NJ.com even named Big Swerve the best BBQ joint in New Jersey, as well as one of 99 best restaurants in all of New Jersey, distinguished honors truly well deserved!
The extensive menu features favorites like pulled pork, brisket, ribs, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, mean beans (baked beans with ground beef), potato salad, cole slaw, and honey cornbread, which regulars say is a must-try. There’s something for everyone, though, not just meat and sides. You’ll also find brisket sliders, jerk chicken, pulled pork tacos, quesadillas, and more to satisfy any craving.
While the main menu of barbecue favorites is reason enough to visit, Big Swerve keeps things interesting with weekly specials and creative new menu items.
