There’s a sweet new addition to Oaklyn, especially for anyone searching for gluten-free treats.
Bleu Bear Bakery is now open at 211 W. Clinton Avenue in Oaklyn, bringing its dedicated gluten-free bakery to a new home in Camden County.
The move follows the bakery’s departure from its previous location in West Berlin earlier this summer. Bleu Bear announced in June that it would close the West Berlin shop at the end of that month while preparing its new Oaklyn storefront.
A Dedicated Gluten-Free Bakery
One of the things that makes Bleu Bear stand out is that it is a 100% gluten-free bakery with a dedicated celiac-safe kitchen, providing customers with a place to enjoy baked goods without the cross-contamination concerns that can come with traditional bakeries. Vegan options are also available. There are also Alpha Gal safe items, too.
And this isn’t a bakery with just a couple of gluten-free items tucked into the display case.
Bleu Bear goes all in with an assortment of indulgent treats, including donuts, brownies, crumb cakes, cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cannolis, mini cream pies, cheesecakes, and more.
The bakery has developed a following for taking familiar bakery favorites and creating gluten-free versions that don’t feel like a compromise.
A New Home in Oaklyn
Owners Ridgway Grace and Dan Schlueter began preparing for the Oaklyn move earlier this year, transforming the West Clinton Avenue space into a purpose-built home for the bakery.
The new location puts Bleu Bear right in Oaklyn’s growing Clinton Avenue business district, adding another locally owned food business to an area that has steadily become a fun little destination for food and drinks.
For longtime Bleu Bear customers, the opening means the wait for a new brick-and-mortar is finally over. And for anyone who hasn’t tried them yet—particularly those who follow a gluten-free diet—you’re in for a gluten-free treat!
