Braddock's Tavern in Medford NJ

A Historic Dining Experience at Braddock’s Tavern in Medford

Braddock’s Tavern, nestled in the heart of Medford, is a historic tavern offering an unforgettable experience, blending the charm of the past with the flavors of the present. Its rich history as a restaurant and hotel, dating back to the 1800s, makes it one of the more unique restaurants in South Jersey. However, it’s the delectable food, refreshing drinks, and warm hospitality that truly set it apart, drawing patrons back year after year.

In recent years, Medford has become a dining and drinking mecca with many restaurants, eateries, shops, breweries, and more. One constant reminder that Medford is a premier South Jersey dining destination is Braddock’s Tavern.

The two-story colonial-style restaurant, with an enclosed balcony over the main street, offers intimate indoor and outdoor dining for lunch or dinner six days a week. Whether you’re enjoying a romantic dinner under the stars or a leisurely lunch or brunch with friends, the dining experience at Braddock’s is sure to delight.

The ambiance at Braddock’s Tavern is nothing short of enchanting, in a setting that is both cozy and elegant. The original hardwood floors, antique furnishings, and warm lighting create an inviting dining environment that exudes unexpected sophistication and historical appeal.

Focused on casually elegant American fare, the restaurant features a recently updated menu by new Executive Chef George Cole. Chef George, a Johnson & Wales graduate who has cooked in multiple Paris, London, and Mexico City restaurants, brings his global culinary experience to Braddock’s. Some of the standout dishes on the menu include the succulent Frenched Duroc Pork Chop, the flavorful Lobster Ravioli, and the indulgent Chocolate Torte for dessert.

Before his new post at Braddock’s, Chef George Cole was the Executive Chef at the Asbury Hotel in Asbury Park, NJ. His years of experience and culinary expertise have elevated Braddock’s cuisine to the next level, ensuring an exceptional dining experience.

Braddock’s is also well known for its Pub-style bar and handcrafted cocktail program, lead by Beverage Director Ryan Arthur. For over eight years, Ryan has used his 20 years experience as a bartender to expand the cocktail game at Braddock’s, elevating classic libations, adding new and exciting cocktails, including seasonal selections. The espresso martini flight, which was all the rage when introduced, is now a permanent fixture on the menu, drawing patrons from all over South Jersey.

“My favorite cocktails are any of the classics, Manhattan, Martini, old-fashioned, Hemingway, etc.,” Arthur told South Jersey Food Scene. “I love the lost art of customer service and making the guest’s day when they sit down in front of me.”

His creative impact and friendly personality at the bar is just one of the many reasons to visit (or re-visit) Braddock’s Tavern in Medford.

Last, but not least, Braddock’s offers private dining as well, and the ability to host a variety of private events for up to 175 people, including weddings, wedding rehearsals, anniversaries, birthdays, and more.
