June 2026 Update: Bud’s Bagels is now open today!
A new family-run bagel shop has joined downtown Medford’s growing food scene. Bud’s Bagels has announced plans to soft open during the first week of June at 23 S. Main Street in the heart of the township’s quaint downtown district.
According to the shop’s social media pages, customers can expect bagels, coffee, breakfast sandwiches and more when the doors officially open. A recent video shared by owner Gretchen Ralston — a local realtor with Legacy Real Estate — gave the first glimpse inside the upcoming shop as final preparations continue.
The business is being launched as a family effort, with the shop named after Ralston’s father, Wilbur “Bud” Ralston Jr., an 83-year-old Navy veteran and longtime South Jersey resident. In a social media post, the family said naming the business after Bud was a unanimous decision as they embarked on the new venture together.
Bud’s Bagels is expected to add another casual breakfast and coffee option to Medford’s walkable Main Street, which has continued to attract new restaurants, boutiques and small businesses in recent years.
South Jersey Food Scene reached out to Bud’s Bagels for additional details, but the business has not yet responded. Stay tuned as we learn more and follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
