Call Me Crispy Chicken in Pennsauken

Call Me Crispy Replaces Express Shish Kebab in Pennsauken

Express Shish Kebab at 2673 Haddonfield Rd in Pennsauken (next to Mama’s Meatballs & Pizzeria) was open for a few years, specializing in take-out Middle Eastern fire grilled food. The food was good, especially the fire-grilled chicken wings. They were exceptional.

A couple of weeks ago, they closed for “vacation,” but surprise – they rebranded and reopened this week with a new concept called Call Me Cripsy, focusing on crispy chicken wings, tenders, sandwiches, and chicken and waffles. Nashville hot is a featured flavor in addition to lemon pepper, sweet chili, hot honey, mango habanero, and honey BBQ.

The fried chicken sandwich trend, especially Nashville hot chicken, continues to grow. It was recently announced that Dave’s Hot Chicken would be opening in Ellisburg Circle Shopping Center. It’s likely to replace the former BurgerFi location.

In Philadelphia, hot chicken is quite popular. Several spots are highlighting fiery chicken sandwiches, etc.

I hope to check it out this week. In the meantime, are you excited about crispy chicken sandwiches and hot chicken in South Jersey? Let me know in the comments!
