Cap’n Cats Clam Bar in Voorhees Now Closed

SJFS can confirm that Cap’n Cats Clam Bar at Eagle Plaza on 700 Haddonfield-Berlin Road in Voorhees will close its doors permanently after service today, ending more than 35 years of serving fresh seafood to generations of loyal customers in the Camden County restaurant. It was confirmed by phone call to the restaurant tonight.

Since opening, Cap’n Cats in Voorhees has built a devoted following with its no-frills, family-friendly approach to seafood. Known for serving high-quality fresh fish, steamed crabs, clams, shrimp, and other shore-inspired favorites, the restaurant became a destination for seafood lovers from across South Jersey.

For nearly four decades in business, countless South Jersey residents counted Cap’n Cats Clam Bar as a favorite dining destination to enjoy a bucket of steamed crabs, fried seafood platters, or to pick up fresh seafood for holidays and family gatherings.

This news will definitely come as a shock to longtime patrons. The restaurant has been part of the Voorhees dining scene for a long time and will be sorely missed.

We are attempting to reach out to owners Tom and Dawn Barnholt for an official comment and will update the story as soon as we have it.

In the meantime, leave your favorite memories on the Facebook group.
