March 2026 Update: Carmen’s Table has announced its grand opening on March 27th.

A new culinary chapter is about to begin in Glendora as Carmen’s Table prepares to open its doors at 200 E. Evesham Road, in the former home of Kitchen 519.

Carmen’s Table is a Puerto Rican–inspired restaurant with a smoked BBQ twist, blending the bold, soulful flavors of Puerto Rican cuisine with slow-cooked and barbecued meats. The concept is rooted in both cultural pride and community respect, as the new owners intentionally sought to honor what former owner John Stewart built at Kitchen 519 while introducing food that reflects their own heritage.

Owned by Roselyn Gonzalez, Carmen’s Table will be a true family-run operation. Gonzalez, along with her family, will manage the restaurant day to day, joined by several Glendora residents who previously worked at Kitchen 519, helping maintain continuity and a familiar sense of hospitality for longtime locals.

The restaurant’s name carries deep personal meaning.

“Carmen’s Table is named after my mom,” Gonzalez shared. “She always told us that hard work pays off and that everyone is welcome at our table. We are bringing my mom’s sofrito to Glendora and her love for cooking and for family.”

That spirit is already coming through on Carmen’s Table’s social media pages on Instagram and Facebook, where preview photos highlight what diners can expect: richly seasoned meats, traditional Puerto Rican flavors, and comforting dishes made with care. In addition to savory offerings, the menu will include homemade mocktails, fresh juices, and indulgent desserts designed to round out the experience.

Behind the scenes, the team is actively remodeling the space, carefully putting their own stamp on the former Kitchen 519 location. “We’re giving it love,” Gonzalez said, emphasizing the hands-on approach being taken to transform the restaurant into a warm, welcoming place that feels both new and familiar.

Carmen’s Table promises to become a meaningful addition to the Glendora dining scene—one that celebrates food food, family, and community around a shared table.

They’re aiming to open in March! Stay tuned to more details as they become available.
