Cherry Hill Diner Cherry Hill NJ

The Future of Cherry Hill Diner

April Update: The diner closes for good on Sunday, April 30th.

Update: It’s been approved. Awful. Just awful.

Cherry Hill Diner’s days are likely numbered. According to an article at 70and73.com, the diner may be torn down and replaced by a car wash. Sheesh!

The proposal goes before the Township Planning Board on January 17. This would be the second area historic diner to close in under a year if approved.

Last May, the Penn Queen Diner in Pennsauken closed, and the building will go to auction.

Both diners have been around since the 1960s.

Sad to see them go. 🙁

Used to love the Penn Queen Diner.. too many clients there for lunch .. only been to the Cherry Hill diner a few times, all good experiences. It’s tough to see these local icons closing down! ( and for a car wash??!!!)

Agreed. It’s all so sad. The Courier-Post and Inquirer just ran articles about it yesterday and today. I read about it on 70and73.com. Both of these legacy diners closing is sad news. I hope someone else takes over the Penn Queen. That is our usual go-to because we live around here.

I had no idea that Penn Queen Diner closed back in May. I never saw and still can’t find any article online about that Diner closing. I only found out today by checking out your article about the Cherry Hill Diner.

There was no public announcement except for chatter on the local Facebook groups. I notice it every time I drive by and it makes me so sad!
