Chubby’s Steakhouse at 239 Monmouth Street in Gloucester City has announced the revival of Guiseppi’s Corner Cafe as a delivery-only concept.
Guiseppi’s Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, a cherished South Jersey Italian restaurant, was originally founded in 1946 by brothers John and Tony Guiseppi in Mt. Ephraim, NJ. It gained a reputation for its authentic old-world Italian cuisine and warm hospitality.

Sadly, in 2019, Guiseppi’s iconic location on Black Horse Pike closed its doors, leaving a void in the hearts of its loyal patrons. The building, acquired by Bobby Ray Harris of Bobby Ray’s Pennsauken Tavern, will open as Bobby Ray’s Black Horse Tavern sometime this year.
The owners of Chubby’s Steakhouse obtained the rights to Guiseppi’s name and recipes. They plan to breathe new life into this storied establishment by operating it as a “virtual kitchen” at Chubby’s first, testing the waters before committing to a brick-and-mortar location.
The menu features antipasti/appetizers, salads, a variety of pasta (fresh cooked and baked), main courses like chicken parmigiana and seafood fra diavolo, panini sandwiches, sides, and desserts like tiramisu and ricotta cheesecake.
The concept will run Monday through Thursday from noon to 8:00 p.m. and be available via 3rd party delivery services DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats exclusively.
Check it out, and let me know what you think!
