Devour Desserts Celebrates 9 Years in Mantua

Let’s help Devour Desserts celebrate its 9th anniversary in Mantua. The Gloucester County dessert shop located at 671 Bridgeton Pike specializes in chocolate dipped fruit, bite sized desserts, and basically all things sweet, decadent, and delicious.

You’ll find Grab and Go Cakes, Strawberry Shortcakes, and Mix & Match Dessert Boxes, where customers customize their own dessert sampler box from over 30 different desserts – dipped fruit, handmade truffle, delicious bars, cupcakes, cannoli, and more!

Devour Desserts is owned and operated by Misty Solomon, a self-taught dessert maker who has never taken a single baking or pastry class. In fact, she started as a home-based business for 4+ years before opening the first location in Mantua. Since then, they’ve opened a second location in Aston, Delaware County, PA.

Between the two locations, Devour Desserts employs 50 people. Most are based in PA since the bakery there is four times the size of Mantua. So, they do all the baking there and transport multiple times a day to the Mantua store.

As a high-volume bakery, it never skimps on flavor, though. Everything is high-quality and consistent, which is likely why it’s become so popular and successful over the years. It’s become a go-to for special occasion desserts, cakes, and sweets in South Jersey.

How sweet it is for this growing South Jersey bakery. Solomon expressed to South Jersey Food Scene, “In the last year we’ve sold over 20,000 cakes and 20,000 cake slices which is just insane to me! God is good!”

In addition to being a local favorite, Devour Desserts has received many accolades and continues to receive rave reviews. It’s been named Best of Gloucester County and won Viewer’s Choice at Glen Macnow’s 94 WIP Quest for the Best Chocolate Contest.
