Bittersweet news for a neighborhood eatery in Wenonah.
Diamond’s Deli & Grill has announced that it will permanently close its doors this Friday, bringing an end to more than three years of serving the local community with sandwiches, cheesesteaks, Italian dinners, and friendly hospitality.
The announcement was shared by owner Diamond in a heartfelt message on social media, thanking customers for their unwavering support throughout the restaurant’s journey.
“After three+ amazing years, I have made the difficult decision to close this chapter and move on to the next,” the owner wrote. “This place has been so much more than a business to me. It has been a part of my life’s story, my family’s life, and most importantly, a part of this incredible community.”
Since opening in Wenonah, Diamond’s Deli & Grill has built a loyal following by offering classic deli favorites, hearty hoagies, cheesesteaks, and homestyle Italian meals. Beyond the food, the restaurant became a gathering place where customers were greeted with familiar faces and genuine appreciation.
The owner expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the business over the past three years—from regulars who stopped in weekly to first-time visitors who helped make every day memorable.
“I want to thank every single customer who walked through our doors, ordered takeout, grabbed a sandwich, enjoyed an Italian dinner, supported our specials, shared a laugh, or simply stopped in to say hello,” the post read. “I am truly grateful for every order, every conversation, and every memory.”
As the final days approach, the community is invited to stop by one last time to enjoy their favorite menu items and say goodbye before the doors officially close.
The owner also shared that the deli has been sold. While saying farewell is bittersweet, the decision comes with optimism for the future and the opportunity to spend more time with family before beginning the next chapter.
Closures like this are always difficult, especially when they involve independent restaurants that become woven into the fabric of their communities. Diamond’s Deli & Grill wasn’t just another place to grab lunch—it was a neighborhood business built on personal connections, familiar conversations, and hometown hospitality.
South Jersey Food Scene wishes Diamond and the entire family the very best in whatever comes next, and thanks them for serving the Wenonah community over the past three years. They were frequent contributors to the Facebook group over the past three years. Thank you for supporting this local, small business.
If you’ve been meaning to grab one last sandwich, cheesesteak, or Italian dinner, this week will be your final opportunity before Diamond’s Deli & Grill says goodbye.
