Gin Rickey’s, a boisterous sing-along bar combining live music and a playful mix of classic cocktails, opens for service on October 6, 2022. The entertainment destination will showcase dueling pianos with musical talent that spans local, regional, and nationally recognized headliners. From the team behind Wild Honey Smokehouse and Tavern, Gin Rickey’s joins its sister concept in The Quarter at Tropicana, an Old Havana-themed enclosed shopping mall located at the Tropicana Atlantic City® featuring 30+ outposts spanning shops, restaurants, and nightclubs at 2801 Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.
The cocktail menu offers a comprehensive look at drinks of the past and present, with a list of 8+ Gin Rickey cocktail varieties, plus classics covering Negronis to Manhattans and everything in between. High-integrity retro sips like the Mai Tai, Strawberry Daiquiri, and Long Island Iced Tea round out the menu alongside a slew of large formats, including a ginormous 42-ounce martini and oversized mason jars.
Like its cocktails, live entertainment is a foundational pillar of Gin Rickey’s experience. Tailored for group participation, nightly sing-along performances will include local artists touring musicians and bands from across the country and genres and styles, making Gin Rickey’s the perfect place to celebrate.
A late-night menu offering delicious bites to offset the evening’s drinks will be served on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 10 PM out of Gin Rickey’s “Hidden Kitchen.” The star of the show is its signature “Twisted Biscuits“ – a mix of sweet and savory comfort food classics served in homemade buttery biscuits. On the savory side, the biscuits, which can be filled with bases like pulled pork, chicken, or smoked meat and topped with a choice of mac and cheese, whipped potatoes, or cole slaw, are a can’t-miss. Twisted Biscuits also play well, filled with cherry cobbler or hot apple pie topped with frozen vanilla custard.
Gin Rickey’s is helmed by Operating Partner Tom Recine, whose background spans 20+ years of running high-volume bars, restaurants, hotels, resorts, and casinos.
“After opening Wild Honey, we realized the need for a place that had good live music, great snacks, and even better cocktails that stayed open late,” said Tom Recine, Operating Partner of Gin Rickeys. “Thus, Gin Rickey’s was born! Saturated with good vibes, Gin Rickey’s is the place to capture all your Instagrammable moments when in AC,” Recine notes.
The classic design of Gin Rickey’s echoes and elevates the nightlife experience Atlantic City is known for via a few key design elements. The 4,000 square-foot space will feature a bespoke Split Flat display designed by Philadelphia’s Oat Foundry, programmed to feature a rotating list of musical quotes and song lyrics, designed to look like a retro departures board.
Gin Rickey’s will be open daily starting at 2 PM, with extended “late” weekend hours. Walk-ins only; however, reservations will be accepted for large parties. Food and drinks will be available for take-out. Gin Rickey’s is located at The Quarter at Tropicana, 2831 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.
