The Original Hot Dog Factory Rebrands as Girl with a Grill Restaurant

Lashaun Crawford is a woman on a simple mission. That mission is to feed people.

In 2020, she opened a franchise of The Original Hot Dog Factory in the Ritz Plaza at 910 Haddonfield-Berlin Road in Voorhees. Since then, it has become a popular destination for hot dogs, burgers, and American comfort foods.

While it was a successful business, she realized that due to the Restaurant name many people didn’t realize they had more than just hotdogs. In addition to running the business and catering, she launched Girl with a Grill to feed people at no cost, serving hot fresh food cooked on the spot all over greater Philadelphia at pop-ups. To date they have fed over 10,000 people.

After four years, she decided to re-brand the space as Girl with a Grill Restaurant. This change would allow her to add more items to the menu, including many offered via her catering company and various pop-ups with a food trailer.

Crawford emphasizes that “Girl with a Grill” represents more than delicious food; it embodies resilience, positivity, and community spirit. Community is at the heart of everything she does. This new business venture is now in complete alignment with her purpose and will allow her to continue pursuing the community work she is passionate about.

The location has undergone extensive renovation to reflect the new name and brand imagery. New murals on the walls highlight the menu offerings, and photographs from community outreach she has participated in are on display to reinforce the good she wants to put out into the world. She aims to provide an uplifting environment while guests eat delicious food.

Many popular dishes will remain on the menu, including hot dogs, burgers, wings, fries, and various sides. The new menu will offer hoagies, fried fish platters, salmon rolls, slushies, rice bowls, and more.

The Re-Brand Opening event will be Friday, February 21st, from 9 AM to 9 PM. The day starts with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Voorhees Mayor Mignogna at 9 AM. A DJ and a live gaming truck will be on the premises, promoting a festive and fun atmosphere. The celebration will also feature special guests, giveaways, food specials, and discounts.
