Every so often, people and businesses reappear in my social media feed, prompting me to wonder where they’ve been—only to realize they’re still active, just hidden by the algorithms. It can be frustrating, especially since I genuinely enjoy following the progress of restaurants and food businesses and seeing them thrive.
That’s exactly what happened with La Lus Vegan Cafe. When they resurfaced in my feed recently, I was surprised to discover they were operating a food truck, only to find out that the truck had always been part of their business and the cafe itself had closed back in 2024. Curious to catch up and learn more about what’s going on, I decided to reach out. Maybe other people were wondering the same thing – what happened to La Lus Vegan Cafe?
While the storefront may have closed in 2024, the mission behind La Lus Vegan Cafe never stopped.
Today, co-owners Shawnna Hardin and Jermel Vaughan are busier than ever, continuing to serve the South Jersey community through La Lus Vegan Food Truck, catering, private chef experiences, meal prep services, and their wellness business, The All Natural Corner, all based at 12 Charleston Road in Willingboro. Together, they’ve created what many would consider a one-stop destination for healthy living—combining nourishing plant-based food with natural wellness products and services.

For anyone who thought La Lus disappeared after the café closed, think again.
Instead of focusing on a traditional restaurant, Hardin and Vaughan shifted their energy toward meeting customers where they are.
Their vibrant food truck can be found at festivals, community events, health fairs, and pop-ups throughout South Jersey and the Philadelphia region, serving flavorful vegan comfort food.
Additionally, they offer weekly specials that can be pre-ordered and picked up at the shop. They post frequently on their Instagram page.
Whether you’re craving hearty plant-based soul food or looking for healthier alternatives that don’t sacrifice flavor, La Lus continues to prove that vegan food can be satisfying, comforting, and delicious.
The couple also offers a wide variety of services designed to help people live healthier lifestyles, such as food truck catering for festivals, private events, and corporate gatherings, full-service catering, private chef experiences, weekly meal prep and customized meal plans, herbal wellness consultations through The All Natural Corner, and community wellness partnerships and educational events.
The La Lus philosophy has always been simple: make healthy eating delicious.
It’s a philosophy reflected not only in their menu but in the way they’ve evolved their business. Rather than being tied to a single dining room, they’ve built a flexible operation that allows them to serve customers across the region while expanding into wellness and nutrition services.
For anyone planning a special event, looking for healthier weekly meals, or hoping to catch the food truck at its next stop, La Lus continues to be one of South Jersey’s standout plant-based businesses.
The café may have closed, but its mission is very much alive—and thriving.
