Last Thursday, South Jersey Food Scene (SJFS) had the pleasure of hosting a special Grand Opening party for the highly anticipated Michael Coastal Italian Grille in Collingswood—and what a night it was!
The event wasn’t just a celebration of a new restaurant; it was a full-on unveiling of Chef Michael DeLone’s culinary vision and a chance for SJFS members to experience it firsthand.
Guests were treated to a first look at the newly renovated space, a complete transformation of the former Nunzio Ristorante. And when we say transformation, we mean it—this isn’t just a facelift, it’s a rebirth.
Chef Michael didn’t hold back. The new space is sophisticated, airy, and elegant, reflecting the updated concept of the restaurant: refined coastal Italian fare with seasonal flair.
The menu preview during the event featured fresh, thoughtful dishes that highlight the chef’s passion for bold flavors and quality ingredients. From handmade pastas to seafood-forward entrees, every bite gave a taste of what the restaurant offers.
From a pork belly and watermelon appetizer, a grilled octopus dish, handmade gnocchi with truffle oil, a delectable strawberry and chocolate dessert, mocktails, and more, it was a spectacular introduction to what Michael Coastal Italian Grille has to offer.
The SJFS community came out in full force to support Chef Michael and his team. It was a night filled with good company, great food, and a shared excitement for what’s next in South Jersey’s ever-evolving culinary scene.

Michael is open for service Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m., and Sunday for brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by dinner until 8 p.m.
