March 2023 Update: MMT Kitchen is now closed. 🙁
MMT Kitchen Owner Paula M. Braxton has brought her soul food family cooking to a stand at the Moorestown Mall Food Hall, where Saladworks once occupied. MMT stands for her three children – Michael, Michele, and Turquoise – who will be helping in her new food venture, which softly opened last week without any advertising. She said business has been pretty good so far.

Ms. Braxton, who lives in Burlington, has experience catering events for private parties and church functions, but this is her first foray into retail food operations. She said the Mall has been very accommodating since this is all new to her. But cooking is her passion, and she’s thrilled that her dream of sharing her family favorites has now been realized. She will likely add more to the menu over time.

Each platter comes with two sides and a choice of cornbread or roll. I had the baked salmon with white rice and collard greens, and he had the cornish hen with sage sausage cornbread stuffing and zesty pasta salad. We shared a side of baked mac & cheese. The proteins were tasty, but the hen would have benefitted from some homemade gravy. In hindsight, we probably should have gotten the loaded hen. The standouts were the sage sausage cornbread stuffing, collard greens, and cornbread.
We’ll definitely go back for the loaded hen and smothered chicken next time. 🙂
Check it out and support a new small business in Moorestown!
