Located in the picturesque rural landscape of Burlington County, Stokelan Winery in Medford offers more than just wine; it provides a complete sensory experience.
We recently visited Stokelan Winery for the first time, something we’ve always wanted to do since it opened over three years ago. New Jersey Wine Month (November) was the perfect opportunity for this visit. We were excited to experience it first hand and see what makes it a unique and must-visit destination in South Jersey. With its fascinating story, exquisite wines, and stunning landscape, it appeals to more than just wine lovers; it’s an example of preservation, perseverance, and human connection.
Situated at 50 Eayrestown Road in wide-open farmland near Medford, Stokelan Winery feels like a peaceful escape from the rush of everyday life. You arrive expecting a quick tasting, but you leave feeling like you’ve discovered one of South Jersey’s best-kept secrets. Surrounded by natural beauty and rolling vineyard views, it’s the kind of place where time slows down, and conversations flow as smoothly as the wine.
The Stokelan estate, transformed from a former cattle farm into a boutique, family-owned vineyard and winery featuring three acres of planted vines, is genuinely breathtaking. The property also includes an 1853 farmhouse converted into an event space with tasting rooms.

The Beauty of Stokelan Winery
The Stokelan Winery story is the culmination of a dream—one rooted in family, passion, and a deep appreciation for wine culture. Stokelan stands as a proud example of what South Jersey’s wine scene has become: vibrant, respected, and continuously evolving.
The first thing you notice when you arrive at Stokelan is the scenery. The open landscape, vineyard views, and thoughtfully designed property create the perfect backdrop for sipping and savoring. It’s peaceful without being isolated, elegant without feeling too formal. The winery is also family-friendly, complete with an outdoor playground.
Each season gives the winery a new personality. Spring brings fresh blooms, summer offers golden sunsets, fall delivers vibrant vineyard colors, and winter transforms the property into a cozy, festive retreat. No matter when you visit, it always feels special.
Wines Crafted with Passion
Stokelan’s wine list reflects a commitment to quality and balance. From crisp whites to robust reds and carefully crafted blends, there’s something for every palate. Each wine is approachable, flavorful, and enjoyable whether you’re pairing it with a meal or simply sipping on its own.
Rather than mass production, Stokelan focuses on small-batch winemaking. This hands-on approach allows for greater attention to detail, more creativity, and a stronger connection between the winemaker and each bottle.
Guests often gravitate toward the winery’s fruit-forward wines, smooth blends, and seasonal specialties. The rotating selection ensures there’s always something new to discover while still offering familiar favorites.

Winery Tours & Tasting Room Experience
It’s not just about drinking wine—it’s about learning, exploring, and enjoying the winemaking process. A weekend winery tour by reservation is a must. You’ll be led throughout the property by an expert staff member, taking in grand vineyard views, and receive an exclusive look at Deepa’s Rendezvous, which is the beating heart of Stokelan’s production facility, and barrel room to learn all about the winemaking process. Then, you’ll be whisked inside the farmhouse to a proper guided tasting, along with a food pairing.

If you want to sip and nosh, you’re able to reserve a visit on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday in the Drawing Room or Lounge and order from the cafe menu. And now, on Friday evenings after 4 pm, they offer a “speakeasy” experience that includes wine-based cocktails and a special small plates menu along with vinyl records playing in Lounge 1853.
Seasonal Events and Celebrations
Stokelan truly shines during the holidays. From festive tastings to special themed events, the winery becomes a gathering place for celebration and connection. Twinkling lights, seasonal décor, and warm hospitality make every visit feel like a mini holiday getaway.
As winter sets in, Stokelan shifts to its cozy seasonal schedule:
Thursday 12pm–7pm
Friday & Saturday 12pm–8pm
Sunday 12pm–5pm
Perfect Gifts from the Winery
Stokelan Winery is a go-to spot for holiday gifting. Bottles make thoughtful presents for hosts, family members, or anyone who appreciates a well-crafted local wine.
In addition to wine, Stokelan offers charming gift items like gift cards, local wildflower honey, playing cards, and more. These small touches make perfect stocking stuffers and thoughtful add-ons.
