New South Jersey Spots to Score Your Caffeine Fix

Whether you’re celebrating National Coffee Day (Monday, September 29th) or simply looking for a new spot to score your caffeine fix, here are some new places to enjoy coffee and espresso drinks in South Jersey.

By Zena
41 East Main Street
Moorestown

By Zena’s European Cafe and Boutique Patisserie opened in early September, featuring a selection of award-winning cheesecakes, pastries, desserts, baked goods, and savory items for breakfast and lunch. The cafe offers a variety of coffee options, including drip coffee, espresso drinks, and Turkish coffee. There is indoor and outdoor seating, so sip, grab a nibble, and stay awhile. By Zena is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Early Bird
519 Howard Street
Riverton

As I recently reported, The Early Bird in Riverton will assume new ownership by the folks behind Common Grounds in Oaklyn. With that, it will offer a bigger selection of coffee drinks, including coffee flights, in addition to a breakfast/brunch/lunch menu. It reopens on Friday, October 3rd with the new coffee drinks.

Sippin Serenity
687 Stokes Rd
Medford

This new espresso bar with coffee drinks, teas, refreshers, and sweet treats opened recently on Stokes Road in Medford, which is already home to a couple coffee shops with more on the way! Check their IG post below for daily hours.

Wildfether Distilling
236 Kings Hwy E
Haddonfield

Haddonfield’s first and only distillery now offers coffee drinks and fresh scones from Sunflour Bakeshop in the daytime on the first floor. The menu is concise, featuring classic coffee drinks and seasonal lattes, all made with in-house syrups used for their cocktails. There is indoor seating as well as on the porch at the rear of the building. Wildfether Distilling is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. everyday.

Re Cafe
226 Haddonfield Road
Cherry Hill

As I recently scooped, Re Cafe opened next to Tiger Schulmann’s Martial Arts center on the 2nd floor at 226 Haddonfield Road (across from the Cherry Hill Mall). The coffee bar features beans from Bucks County Coffee Co. for its drip coffee and espresso drinks. It’s open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Coffee Malem
620 Deer Road
Cherry Hill

Talk about a hidden gem, tucked away in a commercial strip off Route 70 in Cherry Hill, Coffee Malem is essentially an ‘if you know, you know’ place. So I’m letting you in on the secret so you know! The “Experience Bar” on Deer Road serves La Colombe Coffee and espresso to create lattes, cappuccinos, and other specialty beverages. The Spanish latte recently blew up on the SJFS Facebook group. Hours for the E-Bar are limited, but it is generally open during morning and afternoon hours on weekdays. They’re also on DoorDash, so check there first.

Mi Cafecito Spot
839 N Broad St
Woodbury

Mi Cafecito opened in downtown Woodbury in July. It’s a woman-owned coffeeshop and bookstore with a Latin flavor, serving coffee drinks, pastries, and sweet treats. Hours are Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 7AM-3PM | Wed 8:30AM-3PM | Sat 7:30AM-4PM | Sun 8:30AM-4PM.

Cafe Crema
100 S Broadway
Gloucester City

Cafe Crema, an 80s-themed coffee shop, opened in June, bringing coffee, espresso drinks, savory breakfast, lunch, and sweets to downtown Gloucester City. It primarily operates as a take-out business with some outdoor seating available.

Café Espresso is a charming Italian coffee shop in Riverside, opened in the spring. It serves espresso drinks made from beans imported from Italy and ground fresh on-site. The café also offers a selection of Italian desserts, pastries, and gelato.
