Even though the ovens aren’t firing quite yet, Penny’s Bagels in Haddonfield is giving the community a delicious preview of what’s to come.
The highly anticipated bagel shop is still putting the finishing touches on construction, but the team is aiming to open later this summer. In the meantime, they’re taking a moment to thank the Haddonfield community for its patience with a festive Fourth of July giveaway.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 3rd during Haddonfield’s Fourth of July Parade, Penny’s Bagels will be holding an open house of sorts and handing out 250 limited-edition red, white, and blue bagels to the first 250 people who stop by and say hello. While the shop won’t be open for regular business just yet, the event serves as an opportunity for neighbors to meet the team behind one of South Jersey’s most anticipated new breakfast destinations.
In a message shared by the owners, the team said they’re “working really hard” to complete construction and remain on track for a summer opening. The patriotic bagels are simply their way of saying thank you to everyone who has waited so patiently as the project has come together.
When Penny’s Bagels officially opens at 212 Kings Highway East, guests can look forward to authentic bagels baked fresh on-site each day, along with coffee, smoked fish, and classic bagel shop favorites. The concept comes from the hospitality team behind several well-known Philadelphia restaurants and has generated significant excitement since its announcement.
If you’re heading to Haddonfield for the parade, be sure to stop by early. Free bagels, patriotic colors, and a chance to welcome a new local business make for a great way to celebrate America’s birthday.
