Spud & Rice Station Cherry Hill

Rice & Spud Station Brings a Fresh, Comforting Food Concept to Cherry Hill – Click for Menus!

UPDATE 2/4/2026: Rice & Spud Station is NOW OPEN!

A new fast-casual takeout spot is officially opening in Cherry Hill, and it’s bringing a globally inspired, comfort-driven menu with a personal story at its core. Rice & Spud Station, located at 404 Marlton Pike East, Unit 1, in the Saw Mill Village Shopping Center, is the newest venture from chef Dilek Tanriverdi, who has more than 20 years experience as a chef to the concept.

Tanriverdi is no stranger to South Jersey’s dining scene. She previously co-owned Bosphorus Mediterranean Cuisine in Glassboro with her ex-husband, which opened four years ago. It was at Bosphorus where the early idea for Rice & Spud Station began to take shape. After her divorce, Tnriverdi decided to branch out on her own, building a new business while navigating life as a single mother.

“Starting over wasn’t easy,” she shared, noting that while Bosphorus now belongs to her ex-husband, she still maintains a supportive relationship with the restaurant. “I wanted to stand on my own two feet and create something that was truly mine.”

She chose Cherry Hill intentionally, citing its dense population and strong demand for convenient, high-quality takeout options. However, transforming an old office space into a fully operational restaurant in Saw Mill Village proved challenging and costly, requiring significant investment and perseverance. But it worked out in the end and she is thrilled to open soon!

Rice & Spud Station was inspired by a concept Tanriverdi discovered on Instagram and based in the UK. She was captivated by SpudBros, a popular restaurant known for its creative, hearty baked potato dishes, which went viral and achieved great success in England. Motivated by this, she experimented with a similar menu at Bosphorus, where customer response was extremely positive.

Another key influence comes from Türkiye (Turkey), where rice served in buckets is a beloved and widely enjoyed street food. At Rice & Spud Station, Tanriverdi elevates the concept by using basmati rice, which she chose for its lighter, healthier qualities. The rice bowls are customizable and can be topped with options such as meat, chicken, beans, chickpeas, and finished with a fresh salad—creating a meal that’s both filling and balanced. All ingredients are organic and the meat is 100% halal.

Desserts are a major highlight of the menu. One standout is the Dubai Chocolate Waffle, where freshly made Belgian waffles are cut into cubes and layered with fruit, chocolate sauces, and peanut butter, all served in a bucket for easy takeout. The menu also features classic Dubai chocolate cups and Dubai chocolate pistachio shakes, offering rich, indulgent flavors that complement the savory options.

Rice & Spud Station will operate as a takeout-only restaurant, with walk-up orders available in person and through delivery platforms including DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats. The focus is on speed, freshness, and satisfying portions, inspiring the brand’s tagline: Fast, Fresh, and Filling.

For Tanriverdi, Rice & Spud Station represents more than just a new restaurant—it’s a fresh start.

“This is about building something for myself and my family,” she said. “I put my heart into this concept, and I hope the community feels that when they try the food.”

Rice & Spud Station will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. when it opens the second week of January. The exact date will be updated soon!
