Sang Kee Noodle Cafe has been a beloved dining destination in Cherry Hill for over a decade, offering delectable Hong Kong-style Chinese cuisine. Despite the crushing challenges of the pandemic, the restaurant remained a local favorite, serving pick-up and delivery orders until it recently reopened its 40-seat dining room to welcome guests back for indoor dining.
Founded by Michael Chow in 1980 in Philadelphia’s Chinatown, Sang Kee is one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in the region and has gained a stellar national reputation for its authentic and economical Hong Kong-style dishes.
In collaboration with head chef Sunny Ly and his wife Jeanny, Chow opened the Cherry Hill location in 2011. This expansion enabled them to showcase the culinary traditions of Hong Kong, right here in South Jersey.
After managing Cherry Hill for over a decade and over forty years working in the restaurant industry, the Ly’s retired earlier this year. Chow has yet to step away fully, though. He remains a consultant for the restaurant group and checks in frequently.
The current operational team at Sang Kee is committed to upholding the restaurant’s rich culinary traditions and delivering exceptional guest experiences. Under the direction of Kelly Yang, who manages the Cherry Hill location, the restaurant continues to preserve Chow’s vision and legacy as the preeminent Hong Kong-inspired eatery in the area.
