A changing of the guard is underway along Haddonfield-Berlin Road, as Jay’s Asian Bistro has officially closed its doors at 219 Haddonfield-Berlin Road Unit T in Cherry Hill. In its place, a new restaurant—Shogun Asian Cuisine—is preparing to open, with renovations already in progress and signage now up.
South Jersey Food Scene (SJFS) recently got a sneak peek at the upcoming restaurant and spoke with the new owners, “The Lins,” who are bringing a fresh take on the space while maintaining some familiarity.
While Shogun will carry over some of the appeal that made Jay’s a local go-to, diners can expect a more streamlined menu. The offerings will span Japanese, Chinese, and Thai cuisine, with a stronger emphasis on Chinese dishes and sushi. Compared to its predecessor, the menu will be slightly less expansive, featuring fewer appetizers and specialty rolls—and notably, no tempura or ramen options.
That said, fan favorites like poke bowls will remain part of the lineup, ensuring there’s still variety and value for guests. For example, they’re not only offering a lunch special, but also a dinner special (which Jay’s did not feature).
The Lins are targeting an opening date around April 15, though that timeline will depend on the final stages of interior updates currently underway and final approvals.
Once open, Shogun Asian Cuisine will offer dine-in, takeout, and delivery options. Customers will be able to place orders directly through their website, shoguncherry.com, as well as delivery via DoorDash.

- Sunday: 11:30 AM – 9:30 PM
- Closed Tuesdays
With a refreshed concept and a focus on core Asian cuisine staples, Shogun Asian Cuisine looks to bring new energy to a familiar Cherry Hill location.
They told SJFS they will have a Facebook page up soon and maybe an Instagram. Stay tuned.
