Chicksville at 200 White Horse Road East in Voorhees has officially rebranded as Smash House, introducing a fresh identity while continuing to serve the hot chicken and smash burgers that built its following. The restaurant is also broadening its offerings with a variety of halal shawarma dishes and gyros, giving customers even more reasons to stop by.
To celebrate the transition, Smash House will host a Soft Grand Opening on Friday, July 31, featuring free food from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to sample the restaurant’s menu and check out the newly rebranded space.
According to Smash House, the restaurant is about more than just serving great food.
“From juicy smash burgers to crispy hot chicken, everything is 100% halal, served fresh, and enjoyed in a welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for friends and family.”
The Voorhees location was originally supposed to be a Birdie’s Hot Chicken as it was known at its original location in Cherry Hill. But due to a trademark infringement on the name, they had to rebrand as Chicksville. The latest change to Smash House appears to represent the new updated menu designed to appeal to an even wider audience.
At this time, there has been no announcement regarding whether the Chicksville Cherry Hill location will also adopt the Smash House name. I hope there aren’t any issues with the current name, as a Google search shows a chain of Smash House restaurants, and it’s not clear if there is a connection. We’ll continue to follow the story and share any updates as they become available.
If you’re looking to be among the first to experience the new concept, Friday’s soft grand opening is the perfect opportunity, especially with complimentary food being offered during the two-hour celebration.
