Acai bowl and smoothie lovers will love to hear that SoBol in Moorestown will open this month before Thanksgiving.
Mount Laurel residents Maniti and Swatang Patel are bringing the SoBol brand to South Jersey, and it will be the first franchise of the acai bowl concept in the whole state of New Jersey, which started in Patchogue on Long Island in 2014.
Originally from Long Island, Maniti, a former nurse at Virtua Health, and Swatang, a CPA in Philadelphia, relocated to South Jersey for their jobs. The 30-something-year-old couple who have started a family here decided to open a SoBol cafe as they had missed it in their former hometown.

“We truly love this concept and think it will do well in South Jersey,” the Patels told South Jersey Food Scene.
SoBol has been expanding outside of the New York area, with two locations now in Philadelphia.
The health-conscious acai bowl and smoothie trend has taken hold in South Jersey with several local spots of New Jersey-based Playa Bowls and Frutta Bowls.
In addition to customizable fruit bowls and smoothies, SoBol Moorestown will also offer waffles on the menu, topped with any fruit bowl toppings.
The Patels are almost done construction and decorating inside and have passed their inspections. They are planning to open on November 17th and will offer free bowls to customers between 3-5 PM.
Once opened, it will offer catering and fundraising opportunities. They wish to give back to the community they have made home.
SoBol Moorestown is located at 1604 Nixon Drive next to Chipotle.
