South Jersey Food Scene Hall of Fame Inductee: Aunt Charlotte’s Candies Merchantville

There aren’t too many places that can claim to be over 100 years old, but Aunt Charlotte’s Candies has been family-owned and operated in downtown Merchantville since 1920! The South Jersey candy shop specializes in handmade chocolates, assorted candies, and nuts. There’s also a gift shop with housewares, stuffed animals, and various ephemera.

Their slogan is “Delight in Every Bite,” and that says it all. From the moment you walk in the door, you’ll be like a kid in a candy store…literally!

Welcome Aunt Charlotte’s Candies in Merchantville to the South Jersey Food Scene Hall of Fame! This gem has been hand making chocolate and candies since 1920! A must for the holidays or any time. Here’s to 100 more years! #auntcharlottes #candystore #merchantvillenj #southjerseyfoodscene #southjerseyfun #southjersey

Please note: this is a fun project that the editor of South Jersey Food Scene (who runs this site very part time) started in 2023 and will contribute to as time allows.

There are SO MANY deserving entries into the Hall of Fame and, knock on wood, we’ll get to all of them over time. Do not be offended if you don’t see a spot added yet. Give us time!
