Tadim Pide Turkish Bakery & Cafe in Delran

Tadim Pide Bakery & Cafe in Delran Offers Turkish Breakfast, Desserts & More!

A new taste of Turkey has arrived in South Jersey with the opening of Tadim Pide Bakery & Cafe at 2900 U.S. Route 130 in Delran. Owned by Alper Celik, the cafe introduces a menu rooted in the Karadeniz, or Black Sea, region of Turkey, offering a more traditional, savory approach to Turkish bakery culture.

The location was previously home to Turkish Sweet Bakery, a small bakery known for its assortment of classic Turkish pastries and desserts. Under its new identity as Tadim Pide, the concept expands beyond sweets into a full café experience centered around Turkish breakfast culture, street food favorites, and freshly prepared comfort dishes.

The word “Tadim” loosely translates to “it tastes good” in Turkish, while “pide” refers to one of Turkey’s most beloved breads and dishes. Pide is a long, oval-shaped flatbread made from yeast dough and traditionally baked with a variety of toppings. Though often compared to pizza or flatbread in the United States, Turkish cooks consider pide a category all its own, an essential staple of Turkish cuisine with centuries of history behind it.

What sets Tadim Pide apart locally is its emphasis on savory Turkish specialties rarely seen in South Jersey bakeries. The café serves Turkish breakfast platters for one, two, or three people, alongside items like gözleme and traditional Turkish “tost” (toast) sandwiches.

Gözleme is a handmade stuffed flatbread cooked on a griddle until crisp and golden, commonly filled with spinach, cheese, minced meat, or potatoes. The dish has long been a staple of Turkish homes and markets and is something akin to a Turkish-style quesadilla, though with its own distinct texture and flavor profile.

The Turkish “tosts” (toasts) are similar to grilled cheese sandwiches and are made with ingredients such as kaşar cheese and sucuk, a bold, garlicky Turkish sausage known for its smoky spice. Together, the offerings create a café experience that feels equally suited for breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, or a lingering dive into Turkish cuisine.

Alongside the savory dishes, guests can expect a variety of cakes, cookies, pastries, baklava, and traditional desserts. The café’s rice puddings are prepared in-house, while many of the baked sweets are sourced fresh daily from a nearby Turkish bakery to maintain consistency.

Coffee and tea also play a major role in the experience. Tadim Pide serves regular coffee and  traditional Turkish tea, as well as Türk kahvesi, the famously strong, unfiltered Turkish coffee brewed slowly and served in small cups.

There is indoor seating in comfortable chairs for about up to 18. There is also outdoor seating on a patio on the side of the building.

Tadim Pide Bakery & Cafe adds a new dimension to South Jersey’s vibrant, culturally diverse food scene, enriching Delran and Burlington County with an emphasis on heritage, authentic experiences, and the comforting flavors of everyday Turkish cuisine.

The only thing I grabbed so far was an eclair-like pastry which was very good. I can’t wait to go back for some of the savory items (I had already had my lunch plans when I stopped by).
