UPDATE: This just in – The Flying Pig Tavern & Tap opens in Riverside today!
Riverside is getting a fun new addition this summer as The Flying Pig Tavern & Tap prepares to open at 33 Lafayette Street, the former home of Madison Pub and Towne Tavern. The new location is aiming for a late August opening.
While the restaurant takes over the bar and dining space, the expansive event and catering facility will continue to operate under its original name, The Madison, preserving its identity for private functions and large-scale gatherings. The team also operates a popular food truck, known for bringing their comfort food on the road.
What is The Flying Pig Tavern & Tap?
According to its website, The Flying Pig is where flavorful food are together with a beer and spirits bar in a relaxed atmosphere that invites warm conversation and friendly company with friends and family.
The Flying Pig brand has been spreading its wings since debuting in Bordentown in 2022, quickly expanding with two Pennsylvania locations in Bethlehem and Limerick in 2023, each operating independently with different partners.
The main concept is the brainchild of four cousins—Vasilis Kolovos, Tim Kalavruzos, John Hatzicostas, and Billy Diamantakos—whose deep roots in the hospitality industry span diners, restaurants, and event venues.
As with the other locations, guests can expect a menu filled with American comfort food favorites, including wings, stacked sandwiches, burgers, and creative cocktails, complemented by a rotating tap list, live entertainment, and special events.
With its inviting high-energy vibe, The Flying Pig Tavern & Tap is set to become a go-to neighborhood spot for food, drinks, and good times in Riverside.
