Finally!
About a year after plans were first announced, The Red Chickz is getting ready to open this month at Marlton Crossing in Marlton. The date will be revealed quite soon!
The Nashville hot chicken concept is moving into the former Cinnaholic storefront at 135 Route 73 South, near Sprouts Farmers Market and Burlington. The shopping center’s current tenant directory now lists The Red Chickz in space 135.
And yes, South Jersey is getting yet another hot chicken restaurant. Apparently, the category is still on fire. Pun intended.
What Is The Red Chickz?
Founded in Los Angeles in 2018, The Red Chickz puts a West Coast spin on Nashville hot chicken and has built a sizable following on social media. The Marlton restaurant is part of the company’s larger expansion into New Jersey and the East Coast.
The brand promotes itself as serving “The Crunchiest Hot Chicken,” with its chicken hand-breaded and made to order. The restaurant also offers seven heat levels, ranging from Country Style (plain) and Cool (no heat) all the way up to Inferno (XX-hot). According to the company’s website, its chicken tenders and wings are halal.
More Than Chicken Sandwiches
While tenders and hot chicken sandwiches are the main draw, the menu offers much more.
Options include the Honey Butter Sandwich, Original Sandwich and French Toast Sandwich, along with chicken tacos, Chicken N’ Waffles, Chicken N’ French Toast, loaded potato wedges and Buffalo Mac-N-Cheese. There are also meat-free options including cauliflower bites and a cauliflower sandwich.
It’s certainly another entry into South Jersey’s increasingly crowded hot chicken scene, but The Red Chickz is hoping its extra-crunchy approach and broader menu will help it stand out.
