A celebration of Turkish food, music, and culture is set to take over Cooper River Park this weekend as the Turkish Food and Culture Festival returns to Veterans Island for a two-day community event.
Scheduled for May 30 and 31 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the festival will feature free admission and free parking, welcoming visitors from across South Jersey and the Philadelphia region to experience traditional Turkish cuisine, live entertainment, artisan vendors, and family-friendly activities.
Festivalgoers can expect a wide variety of authentic Turkish dishes, including doner gyros, kebabs, homemade pastries, baklava, Turkish tea, and traditional Turkish coffee. Organizers say the event aims to showcase both the culinary traditions and cultural heritage of Turkey through food, music, dance, and interactive demonstrations.
In addition to dining options, attendees will be able to explore cultural exhibits and handcrafted goods, including Turkish ceramics, calligraphy, water marbling art, souvenirs, and handmade crafts. Nonprofit vendors and community organizations are also expected to participate throughout the weekend.
Live performances will play a central role in the festival, with traditional folk dances and Turkish music scheduled throughout both days. Organizers are also planning activities geared toward children and families, making the event accessible to visitors of all ages.
