UPDATE: Over a year later, and Tacoyote is finally open. I hope to have a closer look soon.
Remember when I first reported Tacoyote Taqueria was coming to Moorestown way back in November 2024? That’s nearly nine months ago!
I had been hoping for a “sign” that progress was being made. Lo and behold, I drove by today and it looks like considerable work is in progress. The sign is up and the windows are now providing a glimpse of what is to come and a far departure from what it had been.
The two front windows and side windows are now adorned with Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) inspired frosted/stained glass. My photos don’t do it justice; it absolutely looks more impressive in person.

I have reached out to them for comment, because that is true window art. I want to know who did it so I can give them proper credit for such a display of craftsmanship. Hopefully, I will find out at some point, so I can give the artist well-deserved props.
In any case, seeing this come together on the exterior really made me excited on what I might see inside. Sadly, it has some way to go. There is still a good bit of work to be done on the interior. The door was wide open, so I took a peek.
The wood-fired oven looks to be installed along the left wall towards the front of the building, where I’m guessing will be the main kitchen area. Which make sense because that’s where the kitchen was when it was Maurizio’s. They are still working on some framing in that area. The flooring and drywall looks mostly done. The ceiling is still in progress, but nearly there. It looks like the mechanicals are mostly complete.
I’m no restaurant construction expert, but I am thinking we can expect a possible opening sometime in early to mid Fall. Either way, I’m happy to see this progress, and I’m looking forward to learning about an opening date so that I can share with you!
In the meantime, follow them on their Instagram as they have been very busy posting some highlights of what to expect at the restaurant.
Are you excited for Taco-Yote in Moorestown?
