The people behind Virtua Voorhees viral sushi!

Hospital Sushi in South Jersey is ALL the rage! Find out why.

Who would have thought that the sushi station in the cafeteria at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees would serve the BEST sushi? It all began last November when an anonymous post on the South Jersey Food Scene group made this bold claim. The post went viral, amassing over 1300 likes, 764 comments, and 45 shares, sparking a culinary sensation.

As the anonymous poster (Tae Rich) emerged, it became clear that this was more than just a food review. It was a testament to the power of the local foodie community, where we celebrate and share our fun food finds, no matter where they come from. After all, good food knows no boundaries!

The Facebook post’s ripple effect was undeniable. It caught the Courier-Post’s attention, and soon after, the TV stations followed suit. Fox29 even dedicated a piece to the phenomenon, further solidifying the hospital sushi’s status as a South Jersey food sensation.

Next came the Inquirer and NJ.com. This South Jersey sushi story seriously took off, and everybody wanted a piece of the action reporting on it! I wouldn’t be surprised if this eventually goes national.

Even popular vlogger JL Jupiter recently visited to see what all the commotion was about! And he agreed that it’s solid sushi. I really appreciate him acknowledging the Facebook group as the source.

JL Jupiter tries the sushi that the South Jersey Food Scene made famous!

I finally tried it for the first time last week (as we were visiting a patient in the hospital), and it lived up to the hype. I highly recommend you give it a try. Whether you’re a sushi aficionado or just curious about what all the fuss is about, the sushi at Virtua Hospital is definitely worth a visit. I had fresh rolls made right in front of me. I could see the time and care sushi chef Josef Sutiono put into it.

If you go, park in lot A, check-in at the lobby, and just tell them you’re there for the sushi that South Jersey Food Scene made famous. They’ll give you a pass to go into the cafeteria. Please note, the sushi station is only open Monday-Friday for lunch hours. But they do have a refrigerated grab & go case with pre-made sushi. Of course, while supplies last.

Don’t miss out on this South Jersey food sensation!

And if you’re not already a member of the South Jersey Food Scene group, consider joining. There are so many discoveries like this and many other spots have experienced their own virality. The group and this website is truly is the only dedicated source for this kind of food news in South Jersey.
