Chef Sylva Senat Joins Foodiehall as New Culinary Director, Revamps Menus

Chef Sylva Senat is the new Culinary Director at Foodiehall, a delivery-only virtual restaurant in Cherry Hill, NJ, which opened about a year ago. The James Beard Foundation nominated chef, who’s appeared on Top Chef Season 14 and Food Network’s Chopped, takes over for Georgeann Leaming, who resigned in September to pursue other career opportunities and open her new bakery business Zang Croissants.

Chef Senat is currently in the process of finalizing updates to the menu, which include adding new dishes and introducing new concepts, putting his elevated touch on an already extensive menu of comfort food classics and global cuisines. With 25+ years of experience as a chef and restaurateur, he’s looking forward to taking on new challenges at Foodiehall and launching new restaurants with his unique flair.

“I’m super excited for Chef Senat to join the Foodiehall team,” owner Dan Goldberg exclaimed. “He’s bringing new energy and vision. We have a lot planned for 2023.”

So far, what’s new is a relaunch of Canting Wok, which sees new noodle dishes such as Pork Lo Mein and Shrimp Pad Thai, and Asian-inspired fare like Chicken Egg Rolls, Shrimp Spring Rolls, Pork Belly Bao Buns, and Fried Chicken Bao Buns; the baos are a nod to his former Baby Buns concept at the Bourse Food Hall in Philadelphia.

Flavorful, twice-cooked chicken wings recently debuted on the Simply Fowl menu in the following flavors: Classic Buffalo (sauced), Lemon Pepper (dry rub), Garlic Parm (dry rub), Maple BBQ (sauced), Soy Garlic Sesame (sauced), and Spicy Korean (sauced).

New salads include Cobb Salad with romaine lettuce, red onions, hard-boiled egg, bacon with blue cheese crumbles, and homemade ranch dressing. Grain Salad with kale, quinoa, roasted beets, apples, and homemade white balsamic dressing.

Last month, they added Geno’s Steaks to the lineup, their first partnership with a non-Foodiehall brand.

A revamped version of Dando Tacos is also coming, as well as other new concepts in development and partnerships with established local staples such as Juniors Doughnuts.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available. Learn more about Chef Senat on his website.
