Another food entrepreneur is opening a restaurant in Camden.
By the end of March, Ashlie Brown, 32, is opening Boogies Seafood and Wings at 116 North 3rd Street in Camden.
Ashlie started Boogies Seafood and Wings in 2019 as a side hustle while working in various customer service and healthcare jobs in Camden. Specializing in seafood and wing platters with homemade sauces, she was selling out of her home in Winslow Township, and the business took off. People raved about her food and kept coming back for more!
“All of our sauces are homemade, from the seafood sauce, the garlic parmesan sauce for the wings, and the special boogie sauce,” Brown told South Jersey Food Scene.
She began thinking it was time for a career change and making her food a full-time job. After looking around, she decided it made sense to open in Camden. She found a spot on 3rd Street, the home of a former Pho restaurant. She’s in the process of prepping the space, which will include some limited indoor seating. The bulk of the business will primarily still be take-out.
Boogies Seafood and Wings will also feature soul food and unique desserts such as fried PB&J and funnel cake cookies. It will be open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 1 PM to 11 PM, close at 2 AM on Saturday and closed all day on Tuesdays.
A grand opening is planned for Saturday, March 25. More information as it becomes available.
