Cheesy Crust Pizza Now Open in Washington Township

Murat Yildiz came to United States in 1998. His first job was at Pat’s Pizzeria in Pennsville Township, where he started in the kitchen and worked his way into management. He basically did it all at Pat’s.

Then, in 2020, he decided to strike out on his own. His first business attempt, a pizzeria, was unsuccessful. Undeterred, he decided to give another shot after he found a suitable location, at Harbor Plaza, 421 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in Washington Township.

Yildiz told South Jersey Food Scene, “I was willing to try again and push my luck trying another pizzeria.”

After a couple of months of renovations, he’s now opened Cheesy Crust Pizzeria.

Cheesy Crust makes its own dough fresh daily, using quality ingredients from the flour for the dough to the cheese and sauce.

Yildiz says, “Our pizza is a little different than hand tossed pizza. We prepare the dough in the pan and cook in a convection oven, so the bottom cooks nicely crispy.”

Hence the name “Cheesy Crust” (I see what they did there!)

The menu is standard pizza shop fare, including strombolis and calzones, and hoagies, club sandwiches, wraps, paninis, cheesesteaks, and spicy or Italian chicken cutlet sandwiches. Also, 100% Angus beef burgers, wings, fresh salads, pasta dishes, and fried seafood platters. There will also be homemade Crab Bisque and other soups available daily.

There is enough seating inside for about 20 people. But it will primarily be a take-out/delivery business. It will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00AM to 8:30PM. Closed on Mondays. Order online or call (856) 256-1200.

Yildiz emphasizes, “This is a small family business. We will try to serve the community as best we can. We’re not taking anything for granted. We’ll try hard to earn customers’ loyalty and business.”
