Some might think that The Cub & Bunny Cafe, located at 1206 North Kings Highway in Cherry Hill, is having an identity crisis by offering Korean food and karaoke. It’s not so far-fetched since karaoke is very popular in Korea. They added a karaoke space upstairs last year to provide something different in the area and draw folks in to try the Korean dishes they have offered for a couple of years now, mainly as a takeout business, which is very good, by the way.
However, now I think it is onto something even more clever (brilliant even!) by sharing the space with another non-competitive eatery. Restaurants these days need to be creative and maximize their potential. Partnering by sharing retail space seems like it could be a way to make it work and give patrons more options. While these are two separate businesses, I think they could do some fun collaborations. Anyways…
The owner of El Mariachi San Lucas, a popular and well-liked authentic Mexican restaurant in Voorhees, is opening El Confetti in the Cub & Bunny Cafe space. El Confetti will serve Mexican elotes (street corn), snacks, specialty desserts such as fresas con crema and mangonadas, and soft serve ice cream and sundaes. There is some outdoor picnic seating, but El Confetti will also be a takeout business.
When reached for comment, Manager Ela Ramos mentioned that they expect El Confetti to open next week. Stay tuned for the details. In the meantime, check out their Instagram page for a preview of the tastiness to come! I can’t wait.
