Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken & Wings Opens South Jersey's First Location in Sewell

South Jersey’s hot chicken scene just got a major new addition.

Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings has officially opened its doors at 415 Egg Harbor Road in Sewell, marking the brand’s first-ever South Jersey location. The new restaurant joins the growing lineup of eateries in Washington Township and offers much more than the Nashville-style hot chicken sandwiches that the rapidly expanding franchise is known for.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Waqar ul Hassan of Wenonah, who is excited to introduce local diners to a concept that goes well beyond the typical hot chicken experience.

While many hot chicken chains focus almost exclusively on sandwiches and tenders, Hangry Joe’s features an extensive menu designed to appeal to families, groups, and diners looking for variety. Guests can enjoy signature hot chicken sandwiches and tenders alongside crispy wings, Korean chicken nuggets, chicken bites, rice bowls, kids’ meals, and a selection of refreshing bubble teas. The diverse menu helps set Hangry Joe’s apart from many of its competitors and gives customers plenty of reasons to return and try something new.

Of course, spice lovers will still find the heat they’re looking for. Hangry Joe’s allows guests to choose from multiple spice levels ranging from no heat all the way to the infamous “Angry Hot,” a level so intense that customers are required to sign a waiver before ordering it.

Unlike many fast-casual chicken concepts that offer limited seating, the Sewell location was designed with dine-in customers in mind. The spacious restaurant features seating for approximately 45 guests, making it a comfortable destination for lunch, dinner, or family outings.

The new restaurant currently employs six to eight team members, contributing new jobs to the local community while serving residents throughout Washington Township and the surrounding Gloucester County area.
