A new Japanese restaurant has opened at 1215 Route 73, Suite B, in Mount Laurel, next to Batteries Plus. Okayama Sushi replaces the short-lived Fami Space and Singapore Restaurant before that.
The new owner, Chao Ye, recently moved to Mount Laurel from New York and says she and her husband had been looking to open a restaurant in New Jersey. They visited Mount Laurel and found it very nice. They decided it was a great spot to move to and start a family business.

The restaurant features traditional Japanese appetizers, a la carte nigiri sushi/sashimi/hand rolls, specialty sushi rolls, poke bowls and a variety of hibachi and teriyaki dishes. There are vegetarian options, as well. Prices are fair and on par with other Japanese restaurants in South Jersey.
Dine-in or take-out for now. No mention of delivery yet.
Hours of operation are:
- Mon-Thu 11AM–10PM
- Fri-Sat 11AM–10:30PM
- Sun 12–10PM
