Umile Trattoria in Haddonfield Aims to “Open Soon”

October 2024 Update: Umile is still not open, but another recent post promises it will be soon!

According to a recent Instagram post, Umile Trattoria at 211 Kings Highway East in Haddonfield, plans to open on Friday, September 27th*.

Umile’s main focus will be pizza, but also fresh pasta, salads, small plates, and more. Owners are Chefs David Murray and Walter Gouldsbury of Crumb Sandwich Joint and Gouldsburgers. Rick Coppick, formerly of Pizzeria Vetri in Philadelphia, is Executive Chef and partner.

It was first announced in February that Umile would take over the space formerly occupied by Earth Eats. The space required a lot of work to realize their vision, as they basically had to gut the space to suit and accommodate proper ventilation for the special pizza oven that was imported from Italy. Not to mention the usual opening delays due to inspections, etc.

The restaurant will seat 24 in the dining room, including a 6 person chef’s counter, and a private room for 15.

An “official announcement” will be coming, and I promise to get more information (such as operating hours, reservations, etc.) as it becomes available, including a first look inside and menu items.

Haddonfield continues to be quite the foodie destination. Umile is a welcome addition.

*Please note, an earlier version of this article said opening date would be Friday, September 20th. It’s been delayed by a week.
