Summer may be winding down, but the line at Diane’s Italian Water Ices is still going
strong. This beloved Voorhees staple was founded in 1994 by owner Mark DeCesare, who puts
care into each batch he creates. He’s even developed a system to ensure they’re always fully
stocked with your favorite ices. The menu includes cream ice, water ice, and soft serve.
Cream ices act as a perfect merger between ice cream and water ice, resulting in a smooth
and rich frozen treat. My go-to is the vanilla chip, loaded with chocolate chunks. Their water ice flavors are thicker than typical water ice, with a texture that’s closer to sherbet. Flavors are made with fresh ingredients like juicy blueberries and bright, citrusy tangerine.
As for soft serve, they offer the classic vanilla and chocolate, served in a cup or cone. For
something different, try a glacier shake or a radio ball. A glacier shake blends water ice and soft serve into a silky, icy mix that’s great for enjoying on the go. A radio ball, their version of a
gelati, layers water ice with soft serve, combining the two favorites. They also serve Pineapple
Dole Whip, a dairy-free option made with real pineapple and a texture similar to sorbet.
