JUNE UPDATE! Holly Beach Cafe is soft opening on Saturday, June 27!
“Toast on the Coast. Salt & Sway, Brunch All Day.” Those are the taglines behind Holly Beach Cafe, a new breakfast and brunch destination preparing to make its debut in Wildwood.
Located at 3007 Pacific Avenue, the new cafe is the latest venture from Alexandra Convery, owner of Milkweed Table + Market in Pitman. Designed with a relaxed coastal vibe, Holly Beach Cafe aims to bring a fresh, beachy atmosphere to one of the Jersey Shore’s most popular destinations.
The bohemian-inspired eatery will serve brunch daily, with a menu featuring specialty toasts, Benedicts, griddle favorites, salads, sandwiches, fresh-pressed juices, smoothies, and a variety of grab-and-go offerings perfect for beach days. Guests can dine indoors, relax in an outdoor courtyard tucked behind the restaurant, or grab a quick bite at the takeout window before heading to the sand.
The name itself pays tribute to Wildwood’s history. Before becoming Wildwood, the area was known as Holly Beach, named after the holly trees that once grew along the shoreline. The new cafe embraces the island’s heritage while bringing a modern take on all-day brunch.
Convery brings more than two decades of restaurant experience to the project. She previously owned Westy’s bar in Philadelphia for ten years before deciding not to renew the lease following the COVID-19 pandemic. Having already lived in Williamstown, she shifted her focus to South Jersey, purchasing a building in Pitman in 2019 and opening Milkweed Table + Market in 2021 after extensive renovations.
Following the success of Milkweed, Convery turned her attention to the shore, where she is now based. After purchasing the property in the heart of Wildwood, first with plans for another Milkweed, but then shifted gears with a new concept. Holly Beach Cafe was born.
The casual cafe will offer seating for approximately 20 guests indoors, another 20 seats in the rear courtyard, and additional tables out front. The market-style approach and grab-and-go options are expected to appeal to both locals and visitors seeking healthy, fresh options throughout the day.
With Pacific Avenue continuing to attract new businesses and investment, Holly Beach Cafe has already generated considerable excitement among residents and summer visitors. Convery plans for Holly Beach Cafe to be open year-round, though.
Final inspections are expected next week, and if all goes according to plan, the restaurant could welcome its first customers by the end of June.
