The Township of Mount Laurel recently announced that the world-famous Magnolia Bakery will open a new location at Centerton Square, bringing one of New York City’s most beloved bakeries to South Jersey. While the location is listed on their website as “Coming Soon,” the corporate office has declined to confirm or provide any other details when asked to comment.
Founded in New York City’s West Village in 1996, Magnolia Bakery has become an internationally recognized brand thanks to its classic American baked goods, old-fashioned charm, and appearances in popular television shows and movies. The bakery is perhaps best known for its iconic Banana Pudding, which has earned a devoted following and is frequently considered a must-try dessert for visitors to New York City.
In addition to its famous pudding, guests can expect a tempting selection of freshly baked cupcakes, layer cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, bars, pies, muffins, and seasonal specialties. The bakery focuses on nostalgic, made-from-scratch desserts that have made it a favorite for celebrations and everyday indulgence.
The Mount Laurel location is part of Magnolia Bakery’s continued nationwide expansion through franchising. The company has announced plans to significantly increase its U.S. footprint in 2026, introducing the beloved bakery to new communities across the country while maintaining the recipes and quality that made the brand famous.
The website says the anticipated opening is Fall 2026. We shall see. I’ll keep my eyes on it and report any confirmation, developments or progress as soon as I have it. The SJFS group of more than 230,000 members has expressed considerable interest in this brand and I’m sure they factored the demographics and active food loving community before making a decision to open in South Jersey.
We’re here for it, yes?
If you’re interested in updates directly from them, they even set up a mailing list to keep you updated on the Centerton Square location. That seems pretty official to me. But okay, I’ll wait to hear from them. Haha.
