From the people who brought you Coyote Crossing in Conshohocken, PA, comes Taco-Yote Taqueria at 33 East Main Street in Moorestown.
The former Maurizio’s Bistro will become Taco-Yote, a contemporary Mexican restaurant. The location has paper on the windows indicating work has either already started or will start soon inside. A sign also hangs in the window announcing Taco-Yote is coming soon.
Details are sparse, but Carlos Melendez, who owns the restaurant, confirmed to me back in September that the concept was coming.
Melendez explained to South Jersey Food Scene, “My wife Steffany and I own Coyote Crossing. She is the inspiration and partner for this new concept. High quality ingredients, charcoal and wood cooking with 40 years of experience will make Taco-Yote a true jewel in Moorestown. We can’t wait to open!”
It’s unclear exactly how Taco-Yote will be different from Coyote Crossing in PA. The big difference is the lack of a liquor license since Moorestown is a dry town. Coyote Crossing has a full bar. I assume that will mean BYOB and possibly mocktails.
Coyote Crossing has a large variety of Mexican food offerings, including wood-fired entrees. So, let’s hope that will be included at Taco-Yote. Obviously, expect tacos on the menu since it’s in the name. 🌮
Maurizio’s was a beloved Italian restaurant in Moorestown that closed over the summer when owner Maurizio Randazzo retired. I knew this location on Main Street in the heart of Moorestown, which already features many popular restaurants, would quickly be claimed. Nothing tends to sit vacant there for too long.
Main Street Moorestown is already home to one sit-down Mexican restaurant, Luna y Sol, a few blocks away.
