It was a sweet victory for South Jersey this weekend as Yummies Palace of Oaklyn took home the top honor for Best Traditional Water Ice at the inaugural Water Ice Festival held at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City on Saturday, July 18.
The festival brought together some of the region’s most beloved water ice makers for an afternoon dedicated to one of the area’s most iconic summertime treats. Guests enjoyed unlimited tastings, family-friendly activities, including face painting, and voted for their favorite creations in the festival’s Water Ice Flavor Contest.
When the votes were counted, Yummies Palace earned the title of Best Traditional Water Ice with its refreshing Coconut Water Ice, impressing festivalgoers with its classic flavor and smooth, creamy texture.
The festival also crowned Siddiq’s Water Ice of Philadelphia as the winner of Best Non-Traditional Water Ice for its creative Lime Mojito flavor.
For Yummies Palace, the recognition is another exciting milestone for the popular Oaklyn business, which has quickly become a favorite destination for handcrafted water ice, ice cream, and sweet treats in South Jersey. Winning against a field of well-known vendors from across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York is an impressive accomplishment and highlights the quality that local fans have come to expect.
The first-ever Water Ice Festival featured an impressive lineup of vendors, including:
- Philadelphia Tropical Treats (Philadelphia, PA)
- Uncle Louie G’s Italian Ices & Ice Cream (Staten Island, NY)
- Siddiq’s Water Ice (Philadelphia, PA)
- Yummie’s Palace (Oaklyn, NJ)
