Martino’s Trattoria in Vineland

A Trip to the Old Country in Vineland!

Welcome to Martino’s Trattoria in Vineland!

This week we decided to cruise into Vineland and enjoy dinner at Martino’s Trattoria. So you walk into Martino’s and instantly get the feal you are about to dine in the courtyard of a Tuscan Villa. Complete with umbrellas and a fountain in the middle of the dining room! The walls had murals of a Tuscan village. Very warm and inviting.

We’ll start with the kids. They enjoyed mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. They were crispy, hot and gooey (everything a mozz stick should be!) with Marinara dipping sauce and they made quick work of those. Then they enjoyed a thin crust cheese pizza, which was nicely cooked and had a crisp and chewy crust. Very nice.

Our entrees came with soup or salad. Two of us were treated to huge Caesar Salads, and my wife had the Pasta Fagioli. The salads were nice and fresh with big croutons and lots of flavor. The pasta Fagioli was very good, one of the better ones I’ve had with a rich broth and lots of “stuff!”

For our entrees we had the specials, The first was a Lobster Ravioli with chunky tomato pink sauce and asparagus. It was well made with the ravioli al dente and the sauce rich without being heavy and very flavorful.

Then we had the Cajun Seafood Pasta. Fresh huge chunks of seafood stuffed in huge clams over pasta in a wine sauce. It was hot and fresh and had tons of flavor, while not being too hot and spicy.

Finally, I had the Stuffed Pork Special. I usually stay away from pork, because it can get dry. But this was super moist and tender. On my plate was 2 HUGE pieces of pork, stuffed with spinach and prosciutto, with a sundried tomato, asparagus and sausage demi-glace over 2 equally huge pieces of Polenta. I had to check my pulse because I thought I died and went to heaven. It was FANTASTIC.

The portion sizes are enormous. If you leave hungry, it’s your own fault!
